TWO NEW VENUES FOR THE LUTHER BADMAN KEITH BAND:

DETROIT ROSIE O‘GRADY’S AND CAPTAIN D’S SEAFOOD

DETROIT -- The award winning Luther Badman Keith Blues Band will launch performances at two new venues in February that will be featuring blues for the first time.

Every Thursday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., beginning Feb. 15, the band will be featured at Detroit Rosie O’Grady’s, located on Grand River near Telegraph on the city’s west side. The restaurant and sports bar features numerous flat screen TV’s and an extensive soul food men with ribs, steaks, macaroni and cheese and greens and other soul food favorites.

This will be a blues jam open to all blues musicians looking to work on their chops.
“Luther’s band has played for the Ferndale Rosie O’Grady’s at the Ferndale Blues Festival and always gotten a tremendous response from the audience and we look forward to featuring him at our Detroit establishment,: said Ed Jeffery, vice president of operations for Rosie O’Grady’s.

Every Friday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., beginning Feb. 23, the band will perform at Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant, located at Seven Mile at Meyers in northwest Detroit. Captain D’s Seafood, part of the Nashville-based nationwide chain of restaurants, features a wide range of seafood delicacies, including shrimp, a variety of fish – grilled, fried and broiled – and side dishes such as rice, potatoes and broccoli. The family restaurant has sit down as well as take out dining.

“Live music is something new for us but we think Luther’s band will be a great fit because historically blues parties and fish seem to go together,” said Paul Hubbard, owner of Captain D’s Seafood in Detroit. “We want people to sit down, take their time, enjoy the food and enjoy the music. We know that Luther’s band puts on an entertaining show and we are looking forward to having him.”

Said Keith: “It’s always fun to come to a new place and introduce our music, meet new friends and to have our longtime fans come out as well. We hope to have lots of fun and put some smiles on people’s faces.”

These performances will feature Keith on guitar and vocals, Darryl Lee on bass, James Payton on saxophone and Chuck Robinson on drums.

The band recently completed at two month engagement at Baker’s Keyboard Lounge and a performance at the Ferndale Blues Festival.
